AMCA imposed the following sanction on a school and students in March 2023:  All teams registered for AMCA-sanctioned events during the 23-24 competition season must be accompanied by a responsible adult, approved by both the University and AMCA, at all such events.  Prior to registration for AMCA-sanctioned events, the University must inform AMCA, and AMCA must approve, the responsible adult who will be on-site with the participating students.  That person must check in with the AMCA Representative at the tournament when the students arrive, or the students will not be eligible to participate in that event.  In the event they are not eligible to compete as a result of violating this sanction, the students will be considered disqualified from the event and assessed any applicable late fees and penalties.

AMCA imposed the sanction after learning that the team in question violated AMCA's rules regarding the school's "contact person."  Additionally, AMCA found that the school demonstrated a lack of institutional control with regard to team registration and withdrawal. AMCA concluded that the school's behavior therefore violated AMCA Rules 1.1.3, 1.1.4, 1.1.5, and 2.2.
